In this 40-minute tutorial, Marko will show you how you can use the Android SDK tool Traceview to analyze data and debug issues in your Android application.

By the end of this tutorial, you'll know how to generate log files containing information you want to analyze, and then use Traceview to view that information graphically.

This tutorial will cover:
- A break down of the Android device file system
- The three main partitions in the Android file system: data, sdcard, and system
- Generating trace files from your Android application
- Using Traceview to analyze the data in your trace file, and debug issues in your Android app

  • Great Tutorial.. It would be very hard for me to Develop without Traceview.. thanks again

  • Вы издеваетесь? можно было за 5 минут это выдать всю нужную информацию!

  • Thank you so much for uploading these videos. It is very kind of you to take the time to upload this for free. Your lessons are great. It makes things very clear and I am learning a lot. FYI: I have very little software knowledge but decided I want to learn how to develop android apps. I first just read a Java textbook a couple weeks ago that explained java and object oriented concepts. Then I started to read an android book and was somewhat lost. Your videos cleared up a lot! Thanks! -Margot

  • I've been following your lessons and wanted to thank you. I've learned a lot. Questions from your class enrich the content which is good. My only suggestion would be to consider that this tutorials are being watch on mobile devices (in my case on my way to work), so please upload them in HD and also zoom a lot more specially when you are showing code so we can read. Thank you again!

  • @reinhardt1979: oh come on, you're a '79 and you still have so little clue that you find this useful? Sigh...

  • Really, why does it take like half an hour to get to the point? There's maybe 5 minutes' worth of actual gist in your video. It's like recorded lecture rather than a video tutorial. Frankly, you seem to have a clue, but it's as if you hadn't prepared at all. And what's with the gangsta coder tone anyway?

TL;DR: skip to @30:00, you won't lose anything.
