One of my favorite hymns. This song is from the album, "Together for the Gospel Live" from Sovereign Grace Music.

  • This cover version is nothing compared to the original. Who's the dude who keeps trying to rap over the top of it??!

  • @peanutismint Which original? Did someone record the first singing of the hymn when it was written 130 years ago? It's a hymn... And I really think it's kind of inappropriate to critique a worship service. They're not singing to entertain or impress anyone, they're worshiping God.

  • @katiekatew If you know that it's originally a hymn then why do you ask 'which original'? Or were you just trying to be antagonistic?

  • @peanutismint I was just wondering which original you were referring to in your comment. And if I came across as antagonistic, I'm sorry. I was aiming for slightly sarcastic, not antagonistic... :)

  • So well done. On Ash Wednesday, I quote from John Stott: “Grace and mercy are both expressions of God’s love, grace to the guilty and undeserving, mercy to the needy and helpless.” Thank you, Lord, that I may claim to be your child and carry the ashes on my forehead to prove it

  • @katiekatew yep...beautiful....

  • This video went viral on Bishkek

  • It's a technique called verse leading. Its to help A) to get the guy running the slides to know whats next, B) keep people in beat, and C) a way to show and express the worship leader's passion for the hymn/song and to express his heart towards God. I would suggest taking less time criticizingly someone's style and focus on your own personal worship to God.

  • @katiekatew

basically, what the guy is trying to say is that there is a traditional melody which has been sung for many years, and this melody and version is fairly unique. but worship is worship. doesn't matter how you do it as long as you bring glory to the lord

  • @gipnfdl007 I agree, although from the hostility of the follow-up comments I think we may be in the minority here.... :-)

  • Deuteronomy 32:4 'He is The Rock".... Lovely song! and all male voices!

  • @peanutismint .which original song?you are not serious and stop criticizing it,what is wrong with the"guy"?if you dont like it you rather keep your comments!!

  • Beautiful Hymn sing to the Lord all the days of your life . Ephesians 5:19

... in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart,

    Colossians 3:16

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
