@drumass66 Doc's NBA career high is 45 which he hung on - you guessed it - Larry Legend and the Celtics.
-
Doc's Bird like days were in the ABA.
-
@Koolv32 ...probably something along the lines of, "I got 42 on Dr. J's six tonight. There's no way he can guard me." And they both get ejected.
-
Dr J is the athlete /entertainer everyone should aspire to be like. His off the court demeanor, eloquence & carriage signify a model example for all to follow.
-
As young ones grow up and learn to play the game of basketball, they should all look to Dr J as a role model. He was not perfect, but he used his amazing God given talents to play basketball, and always played with humility and dignity. You never heard anything negative about Doc throughout his career. No showboating, no contract disputes..just loyalty and integrity. Blessed with amazing talent....

I remember being 12 and wanting to be just like Dr J or Magic Johnson. Except that with Dr J I wish so much he had been a Laker and not a Sixer.
What a classy guy and classy athlete. Well spoken, intelligent, and professional...

Erving said that the greatest player in basketball is Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and he's right
A real class act! Very well spoken and gracious! Thanks for posting.
