  • Ah shit. I was born 70 years to late.

  • How could they know during that awful air raid we were to lose the talented singer Al Bowlly. This record is a class title and he executes it perfectly. His voice is so distinct that i was in a music shop once and they were playing a song of his and I asked if it was him, purely as to me his voice was so unique. The surprise of the person behind the deck was funny, as i was young. Al Bowlly is still one of my favourites. I am glad to read other young people also listen to his talent.Thanks..

  • Wonderful just wonderful

  • Wonderful. I was born too late as well for such greats as Bowwly, Columbo and Nelson Eddy.

  • He was often described as a pint sized Cary Grant. He had a fantastic voice and sadly was lost during WW11. Ray Nobel came to the states but never had the success he had with the Mayfair Orchestra in London.

  • It's folks like you you that keep this music alive. Ray and Al are two of my favorites.

  • Mr Bowlly, the very thought of you makes me so happy.

  • Beautiful!!

  • @Blonde7362 - In my view, the greatest singer whoever lived. What a pity most of us weren't around when Al was King. Will we ever see Al Bowlly's equal? I don't think so.

  • What a voice....beyond compare. Great song, wonderful singer.

  • "The Very Thought of You"--timeless, immortal, as if from Cole Porter's sheet music!

  • I really liked the violin work around 3:10, and I like the nostalgia of Bowlly's voice, but I have to say I prefer Nat King Cole's version.
