  • have it never tried to bite you?

  • yeah both did bite me. when I try to piss'em off or when I disturb them while they're eating.

  • haha it's so cool how they just swallow the whole rat or mouse or w/e whole!...but like...how does it get rid of waste?

  • Are these wild specimens? I'd assume so, I do a lot of herping and find these, I have a small collection right now and I'm thinking getting a sub-adult next time I'm out. I have tried to get these to eat rodents, with little success, what should I do? I just keep stuff outside to have perfect temps, since I'm in Florida.

  • good hunt

  • That snake went Nom nom nom on that rat :D

  • Spinelessscales; these are coachwhips... (at least I think the second snake is) they eat snakes, lizards, birds, rodents, etc. and wouldn't have to be starving to eat eachother, same size or not. and what he was describing isn't cannabilism, it's accidental, they start eating at one end and continue until they're done, eating the snake connected on the other side of the mouse... It doesn't happen too often in the wild but it can and has happened.

  • Due to my own coachwhip videos, I found this as a related vid, and although the comments are a year old, they need to be addressed. DaBoaDude; overall I agree with what you said, but as long as he stayed right there, he'd be able to seperate them before anything serious happened, still not a good idea though.

  • They are very smart snakes, but they are also very nervous. All three that I've had calmed down over the course of a couple weeks. You shouldn't have a problem with them if you don't mind a snake that doesn't like to sit still while it's being handled.

  • They look about the same size. As long as they're fed regularly, there's no need to worry about cannibalism. One would have to be EXTREMELY hungry...like go for months without food...before trying to take on a snake its own size.

  • nice man ..

    i like

  • they're not that aggressive. i mean i could handle their bite. although i bled few drops, but it doesn't hurt at all. if they are common around you, why don't u go snake hunting?? it's fun, but don't go alone. i don't think it's illegal to keep coachwhips. u might need to check that.

good luck! and thnx for stopping by.

  • hahaha nice
