    Well presented, I've downloaded a schematic diagram of a SMPS, found that most are all close' if not, identical ', your description is absolutely well done, presently I'm breaking down a monitor, there's some 'mean voltages at the rectifying end,(Au domestic 240V~ac ) outputs are 7, through to 800 V-dc, .and high current, Components is what I'm after, making sure to ground-out anything that may lead to " melt - down " e.g. Fly Back T-Former, ... cheers ,73's thanks for your tips/ideas

    interesting. I was expecting more on the filtering and shielding side but obviously that was not an issue

    Very good explanation of switchers, I worked for a power supply co. testing and t/s and you were very thorough. I run a rig with a commercial switcher but modifying was an option. 73
