This is my home-made 1 cylinder single-action model steam engine. It is only running with compressed air at the moment. Much thanks to hartmutbehrendt for both his amazing videos and most importantly the inspiration to even attempt this kind of a project.

  • whats the piston made of?

  • @SthealthRaider

the piston is a 1/2 inch copper plumbing pipe with one end sealed shut via a piece of sheet copper soldered on. the Cylinder is a 1/2 inch "connector pipe" and they fit together quite well.

  • Amazing, for this engine to run this well and appear to be made almost completely from found material/junk! Great job!!!

  • Hallo DH, ultra super extra machine. I like this simple kind of machines. It does'nt look very nice but very interesting: everything is moving and shaking, and how it works can be seen clearly. Congratulations!!! Thanks for sharing this video with us. Cheers Hartmut
