Here's a chest that my friend Brent made out of "cast offs" from local industry. The outside wood pieces were made of skid boards that weren't fit to use, the hinge was diverted from the landfill, and the laminate flooring was leftover from a homeowner's project. There wasn't enough to use on a floor, but Brent saw the opportunity to use it as a liner in the chest.

Nice idea. A lot of people are, unfortunatly, burning these skids, instead of making shelves, tables or other furniture with them. I know a book exists on how to recycle these skids for furnitures, but I'm happy to see a "real" example.
