Book Scanner: First Prototype

First prototype of my DIY book scanner. Left and right pages are extracted from an image sent from a single DSLR camera. Page perspective is reliably detected using 8 fiducial markers placed on the platen.

This is just for testing the image processing algorithm. I still need to configure the camera and lighting. I might build a page flipping mechanism in the future if I'm in the mood.

@achitaley Sorry, my program won't be helpful because I wrote it in ad-hoc manner just for prototyping. I don't have time to write generic one unfortunately for now...

Which software is used in Mac to split book pages as two different images?

how about reflection of your tripod and light buld on the surface ? Can you quickly correct that ? Also, do you use plexiglass instead of glass ? Anything special about it ?
