It teaches children born into it to not obey our federal and state laws.If people cannot respect our legal standards, which prohibit polygamy (every state does) then they should be prosecuted. Your parents and whomever else is in the "polygamy" in your home, are breaking US laws. It never has been, and never should become legal. It would hurt the status of American women badly.

Nice song. The Bible does not forbid polygamy, and the proper age for "love" is, according to ezekiel 16, (and according to nature, too) when she develops physically (about one year after menarche). But the Bible also says to obey the laws of the land, so 16 with parental consent is a proper age. Marrying under 16 would be breaking the law of the land (Romans 13), and therefore not proper. It's sad, though, that the unbeliever's daughters are sleeping around at 13 and then nobody marries them.
