This clip has been edited so basically the sketch is that America is planning on blowing up the moon, until the monkey sent into space to do the job uses sign language to question "Why should we blow up the moon?" Controversy arises and country singer C.S. Lewis Jr. releases this musical response.

During the second Bush's administration, the solution to this problem---using a chimp who couldn't sign in order to avoid the question---seemed even more like what would actually have happened.

(Note: neither chimp went into space---using a signing chimp at the Space Centre was evidently just another piece of publicity designed to distract people from the question, 'Why in Hell are we trying to blow up the MOON?,' making his refusal even funnier.)
