RHP Dinesh Patel

RHP Dinesh Patel and LHP Rinku Singh are believed to be the first athletes from India ever to sign pro baseball contracts. They were identified about six months ago from a group of 30,000 other athletes in India competing to win a "Million Dollar Arm" contest.

For the past 6 months both pitchers had been training with pitching coach Tom House at USC, in preparation for a November tryout in Tempe, Arizona.

Coincidentally, my son played catch with Dinesh during warm-ups and drills at the USC Prospect camp last August 29-31 and I happened to get one of Dinesh's fastball deliveries in slo-mo with the Fastec camera.

We just saw the great news about Dinesh and Rinku signing free-agent contracts with the Pittsburgh Pirates in today's paper! Congratulations Dinesh and Rinku!!!

dinesh definatly has a better motion i think if rinku is able to get his break from ballhand and glove up higher hes gunna eventually throw 93-94 consistently

this is definitely workable too, it'll take a while for these two pitchers to get to the majors but when they do, it will be legendary.
