That's actually a flat lie Namz, but if you search google you'll see that Norm Coleman headed Bill Clinton's reelection campaign in Minnesota (and did a really good job at it - Bill Clinton got elected.).

Point being people switch all the time. Teresa Heinz Kerry was a Republican until 2003 and then was a speaker at the 2004 Democratic Convention.
