This video compares three amp models found in Fractal Audio's Axe FX Ultra, Axe FX II and Digidesign Eleven Rack.
The amp models used are based on a Fender Deluxe 64, Marshall JCM 800 and Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier. No effects were added so that you can really compare the amps.

Guitar used: Parker Nitefly

  • I like the review and all of your info man :D Just one suggestion. I think you should do like 30 second demos of each sound as opposed to like 10 second demos just so we the viewer get a better idea of it :D

  • @pietdepsi Thank you! I will keep that in mind for sure, thanks!!

  • big question for you guys on here. I just got a mac today, and this video won't play for me, never had a problem getting it to play on PC... just wondering, is there something I need for my mac to play it?

  • @eddieisfiction Congrats on your new Mac!

Is this the only video that is not working or all the Youtube videos?

Click on the Apple menu (top left) and launch the Software update. See if that works...

  • @Wallimann hey it works, thanks a lot I know it was a stupid question, but hey gotta start new sometime

  • @eddieisfiction No problem, I had that problem too at some point. :-)

  • @nomadicexplorers each rack unit seemed to have it's strengths and weaknesses when it comes to amp quality. I heard the axe fx units in general are not necessarily designed to perfectly duplicate each amps sound. that they were just trying to get a good vibe from the amp to be similar to the real thing and capture it's personality. Mesa being fat and deep, Fender being low gain clean, diezel getting huge distortion etc. How do you feel owning all 3 of them? Great video.

  • thanks that was so informative. the only thing i would do is show a few more different amp models, and that the video was longer. It was interesting seeing how loud some of rack modules are louder crisper and deeper than the other rack units are. Are there more high gain amps like diezel, bogner, mesa, vht, engl in the new axe fx 2 than the older axe fx ultra? Will they still allow you to download other guy's setups and sounds on the new axe fx 2? great demo, please do more, even practicing.tnx

  • You just need to tell your software to record what you want from the 11R, main outs, digital outs, mono out (re amp) and thats it. Tell your software that you want to send the dry signal not for the master stereo but for the mono out (goes to the re-amp in of 11R), go to the 11R itself and change the input to (Re-Amp) in the options.

click rec and play and thats it, the 11R does record anything by reamp, just like the Axe FX int any kind of multitrack software

Salut buddy, keep the nice work ;)

  • hey walliman! how are you?

I've recently discover something abour what you said about DI and re-amp.

The eleven rack DOES do that with any software but pro-tools.

I'm recording this week guitars for tracks, and I'm doing re-amp using the 11R, in nuendo and not pro-tools.
