  • @HipsterEatinShark every one at a certain level, some people who are just naturals who dont read about it (or watch videos) can still be fooled

  • "So this is a good position"? Yeah, if you're a patzer. Seriously, if you try this on a seven year-old who has had three lessons, he'll probably trap your queen in five moves. Everybody knows Scholar's Mate now; it is not a good position, and in fact is not an advisable strategy.

  • Dude I just won a tournament and I did scholars mate every game and I won in 3 minutes or less

  • 0:40 Be careful about trapping your queen. The correct response from black is to move Qe7. If Qxh8, then Nf6 not only traps the queen, but gives you a big lead in development. While the queen isn't actually trapped (nothing is attacking it on Nf6), it is stuck in the corner and useless. Note that this trap does not work if you block with the bishop, because the knight will be pinned when the queen takes h8.

After you block with queen, you can also do Qxe5+ to do some harassing first.

  • wat if the black lays d6

  • @CoolieTubie The King can't take your Queen if the Bishop has her back.

  • Excellent, informative tutorial video. Thanks uploader.

  • Can't the bishop take the c7 pawn when queen is protecting

  • The 4 move checkmate can turn to the 5 move checkmate easily if you changed it to Qf3 cus once you do that you can go to B3 and then Bishop takes the F7#(If the King didnt move his E2 Pawn but most of the time they wont since they will be too caught up with the 4 move Checkmate

  • @CoolieTubie

Do you place your bishop where it should be?
