I love the Ornette Colman original. I also recall that the MJQ did a version of this music that was much more subdued than the intense howling of Don Cherry and Ornette Coleman. This is an interesting attempt to translate this music into a different genre. It seems to be more subdued, to be certain, but for me retains the disturbing edge of the Lonely Woman. Not all of our pain is expressed in howls.
Kostabi cheats at his "art" but is a capable pianist, this sounds like Lonely Woman meets Ravel or Schuman, nice version Ornette classicized, never heard it this way before.... check out some of his other

the whole idea of interpreting "Lonely Woman" this way is quite unexpected... the technique is good..
but piano interpretation make the composition lose all of its sharpness, all the feeling of agony and incessant search of smth...
anyways, that was just my opinion
good job!
