here we go again...this guy never a legend!!! overated throughout his career never can be compared to greats such shane warne,wasim akram.brian lara,sachin tendulker. sir sobers.imran khan.don bradman. murly.....these are serious pioneers of the game......i tell you who is a english cricketing legend proper BATSMAN!!! gooch....now he is a legend!!!!

In 1974 I was ten years old and went to watch Somerset v Leicestershire, Sunday League match at Westlands in Yeovil. I met a school mate there called Graeme and I asked "why you here"? and he said my brother is 12th man for Somerset, and he took me to meet him. That 12th man was the great Ian Botham before he took cricket by storm, still remains something I will never forget. Ian Botham a legend not just for his cricketing exploits but his charity work also. One of life's truly great humans.

Possibly the greatest spell of bowling ever. Few can compare to Botham.
