  • GO BAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 250 Nuclear capable subs in the U.S arsenal? You plant 3 withing 400 miles of Iran/etc.. It'd give them pause. Make no mistake. With all the "Loose Nukes, technology, etc" You don't have ICBM capability and YOU DEF don't have sub-launch capability. The U.S. Policy of MAD will ensure this world (or at least life as we know it) will end on OUR terms, not yours. Technology on even the most basic level of sub launch. ICBM level is not even 45 years away for ANY of the most advanced Rogue state.

  • @wheelmanstan ....sean connery isnt in crimson tide.....

  • yep, a very good film, russian vs american, cold war, tom clancy, sean connery, nad it won an oscar, how could you go wrong

  • And then we attack Russia, and China gets into it, and it's a global nuclear fist fight? It does make people feel uneasy.

  • One more thing.. They are always upgrading their nukes. Remember "Satan", the 100 ton ICBM? Someone in these comments, or maybe it was another video, mentioned that the Discovery Channel had a "Modern Weapons" special on Russia, and featured their various missile technologies which are supposedly superior to ours. Why upgrade nukes? Do they think that we are a threat to them still? Is it about the whole Iranian nuke scenario, where Israel goes in and attacks Iran, and Russia attacks Israel?

  • I believe they still have communist hard liners in the government, and they could still cause conflict with the U.S. I don't think they are necessarily "the enemy", but like i said, they are our "chief rival." They are more of a threat to us in the world than Iran OR North Korea. Of course, they still have about 15,000 nukes, and we have maybe 9000. They are still a potential danger.

  • I would say Putin is very arrogant, and boastful. I remember back in 2005 or so, he mentioned something about the Russian military, maybe concerning Chechnya. I don't remember exactly what he said, but he did mention the fact that Russia still is a nuclear power, and they will use the nuclear option if provoked. This was a time when we were still, maybe we could use the term "at peace" with Russia. I personally don't believe we were ever really "at peace" with them, with Putin being Putin.

  • Well I was born a decade before the Cold War ended. When the Cold War ended in 1990 I said to myself "One day the Russians will return to their old ways and we will all be dragged into it". One example of this was Russia attack on Georgia in 2008. With Putin being "re-elected" I fear it will only get worse.

  • The Captain seemed like the secretary of the interior in the nuclear thriller "By Dawn's Early Light." He seemed like a warmongering type of captain, as the SOI in BDEL. They didn't listen to reason, and let cooler heads prevail. They wanted to WIN the nuclear war, which simply is not possible.
