Interesting and passionate, the room was packed full of folk with opposite political views. State Representative Kim Pearson (Republican) explained what she thinks of unions charging nonunion workers for their negotiating; and of inviting back film makers with tax breaks before the system is thoroughly fixed. Senator Black (Democrat) explained his mixed feelings about gay marriage. Asked why he supports Senate Majority Leader Mike Gronstal's (Democrat) dictatorial veto over allowing the Senate to vote on whether to submit gay marriage to a popular vote, Black said he has asked Gronstal to allow it, to no avail; but Black didn't address why he voted against suspending the rules in order to allow the Senate to vote.
