I don't think she is the best female athlete - she won this partly cause she has GREAT looks. It definitely was a factor.
But that's okay I guess, not complaining. Some people are just born stunning.

@wiseguyknowsit Julia won two medals in Vancouver same as Lindsey. Look at the FIS Alpine stats and results and even Julia has admitted Lindsey is the better skier the last three years.
As far as Serena a girl with great athletic ability but a attidtude and class-less person. How soon we forget her threat to a US Open Ump in 2009 where she was going to stick a ball down her throat. What a nice role model.

Lindsey has won the overall World Cup title in skiing three years in a row. She blows Julia away in overall wins at 33. This is not just about the 2010 olympics but the complete year of results. Lindsey is by far an overall better skier; julia has the ability to come up with some big races but does not have stamina all year.

@jiggaluv123 did you forget that Julia Mancuso won 4 medals in skiing? She also represented the US. Lindsay just got nominated because she's more popular and pretty. She didn't even deserve this nomination. She wasn't the best female Olympian. And yes Serena deserved this if were talking about overall accomplishments this year.

Honestly, Serena should have won this. But then again, what Vonn did is very tough, so she deserves the award too.
