NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT INTENDED - (Columbia 43392) Out of New York, this 1965 release is the last of the three singles issued by Miss Young on Columbia. A big, Spectorian 'Wall Of Sound' arrangement by Garry Sherman on a tune that was also recorded by Lenny Welch, The Lettermen, Billy Fury, Jay & The Americans and Bill Medley. April, who was also the wife of legendary producer, Jerry Ross, sadly passed away in 1989.

  • After the treasure trove of new-to-me old musical riches I found here on YouTube throughout 2011, I've just discovered my first great old song of 2012--thanks so much!

  • @sonofretrotvluver Well, you picked a good one to be the first 'great old song' of the year!

  • Like some never heard this version.Grew up listing to Jay/The Americans version. Thanks so much for the heads up.Appreciate it

  • @vva4844 Thanks for stopping by to listen.

  • Didn't know this existed. Grew up with the Jay and the Americans version and later heard the Lenny Welch rendition. Have to admit to liking Jay's vocal on that a bit more, but this is still a splendid record and didn't deserve obscurity.

  • @lesgore54 This way this song is constructed, fits perfectly with Jay Black's vocal ability.

  • I never even heard of her.

  • @quieterrps Each one of her records got progressively better. I can only imagine what wonderful musical gems she would have churned out if she had continued recording. Your comments are very much welcomed. Comment away!

  • Another tune that I'm in your debt for. Always thought there must've been more than the fantastic "Gonna Make Him My Baby" single and this is just as quality! Glad to have found your channel. (last comment ~ for the morning at least~ I promise!) :- )
