She's talking about the way misogynists label and devalue women like her in bands: "The world is full of sluts like you...." Think of the Much Music piece on Garbage: "3 studio geniuses and a sultry, mouthy singer..." One reviewer called Shirley a 'slut' once. Presumably because she wore short skirts and swore quite a bit. If you think someone like Shirley would call another woman a slut as a diss you're dreaming - she's too clued up for that kind of shite.
