Junk in the trunk for football season!

This is a short video that shows the kind of "extra" gear that I carry in my trunk during football season (from about August to January). This is the non-photo gear that is important when the weather turns bad, as it can do very quickly here in Kansas! I apologize for the wind noise in this and other videos. These were shot with a FLIP video with minimal editing. Thanks for looking.

I don't use ball heads on my monopods. Tried one for the first time just a couple of weeks ago with a Sigma 120-300 and it was a mess trying to keep the thing from flopping around when not shooting. No way I'll do that again and no way I'll ever do it with a 400/f2.8. I use lens plates and clamps.

There's a company from the UK that's just entering the market for tripods, monopods and other supports called Vanguard. Check them out, great build quality, really light carbon fiber materials, and every bit as functional as Gitzo or Manfrotto. You just don't pay for the name, prices are awesome.
