An unorthodox song off an unorthodox album. Although most of the songs on her 1969 'I'm a Loser' album will only, but fullheartedly, make you cry or think, this one will have you moving as well. Doris Duke tells stories as much as she sings them.
All rights belong to whoever they belong to, most notably Canyon Records for putting out an album that had been rejected by anyone from here............................ to there. And the unique artist Doris Duke obviously. For entertainment and educational purposes only.
Enjoy!

I forget who the bass player was...it's Duane Allman on guitar.... all the songs on this were written by Jerry Williams aka Swampp Dogg... who also produced this.... a real masterpiece, not a bad track on the album.

Doris Duke was a vastly underappreciated
artist...she deserved better. A great
cover of a Clarence Carter tune. Thanks.

Awesome song! The bass is out of this world! Does anyone know who played bass guitar on this track and on the rest of "I'm a loser" album?
