Technically thats not sushi. "Sushi" is a term for the combination of rice and rice vinegar. It doesn't really have to have fish in it, and the fish doesn't have to be raw either.

In Japan everybody does this all the time. When I was in Japan, there as an American guy who wanted to outdo the locals, so he ate a raw rat ... but frozen. True story!

sushi is the rice. sashimi is raw fish.

i don't know about the saltwater/freshwater parasites thing Rabarx was talking about but there are parasites that can transfer from fish to human.
one of them is the fluke. its life cycle is from feces to snail to fish to human or other mammal, i'm sure.

Just to let everyone know, it's been 4 years since I've posted this video and my friend who ate the minnows is perfectly fine. She never got sick, she has no parasites, and we look back at this and laugh.

nope. it was only three. we made sure to wash them before she ate them so i'm pretty sure they were as clean as a raw minnow can possibly get haha
