Pat Curran and Joe Warren promised fireworks in their main event Featherweight Title Fight, but it was Curran who stopped the former Champion Warren in one of the most entertaining Bellator bouts seen in recent memory. The last time the Bellator Featherweight Championship changed hands, it was Joe Warren stopping Joe Soto at Bellator 27. Pat Curran, the Bellator Summer Series Featherweight Tournament Champion, was looking to capitalize on his second tournament championship with a victory in the main event at Bellator 60. The first round opened up at a feverous pace, with both featherweights exchanging blows. After hurting Warren with an onslaught of punches and knees, Curran pursued "The Baddest Man on the Planet" looking for the finish. Warren, however, showed why he is the defending Bellator Featherweight Champion, as he found a way to avoid being finished. In the second round, it was Warren who controlled the fight with his Greco Roman wrestling for a majority of the round and seemed to be building some momentum in his favor. When the third round started, Pat Curran came out energized. After landing a knee to the chin of Warren, Curran followed up with a barrage of strikes that forced the referee to stop the fight.

Shut up troll. You have absolutely NO idea what you're talking about. Have YOU ever fought? Obviously not or you would have known that fight should have been stopped around the 20 second mark. Just because the ref is a 'former fighter' doesn't mean he made a good call. Joe Warren was out on his feet. Just because he didn't go down immediately doesn't mean he wasn't out of it. Have you ever watched a pro boxing match? This stoppage was fucking hideous, an absolute disgrace.

First impression is that this should have been stopped at roughly :19 It should have definitely been stopped around :24 seconds, when he falls down the first time from those vicious knees. The fact that the fight goes on for another :17 is just foul and a travesty to the sport.

Unfortunately, this is not feudal Japan. The goal is to win. To submit your opponent or preferably, knock him out. The fighters get paid big bonuses for this type of footage. This is more than simple human error. This had probably ruined that fighter's chances of ever getting to that level again. That fighter could have died, then it would tarnish all of MMA, especially now, when another dude just died in the sport. Whoever sponsors this fighter should be pissed as hell.

Because he was in a semi-conscious state, the results of the concussion he received from all those knees. Unfortunately, he is probably going to need to retire after this fight. I would sue Bellator and the referee for not doing their job. Especially if this was one of my best prizefighters. This kind of damage is irreparable.

Does anyone know if there is some sort of blood feud between Joe Warren's and Jeff Malott's family?
