President to Cut Medicare/Medicaid in his Budget

Center for American Progress Health Policy Director Karen Davenport says that with 47 million uninsured Americans now isnt the time to cut Medicare and Medicaid (as the President intends to do in his new budget) instead of focusing on programs spiralling costs, she suggests the overall costs of healthcare are bankrupting EVERYONE and need to be reigned in.

And at the same time, they're asking for new money for a new generation of nuclear weapons. Cutting Medicare for nuclear bombs - only the Republicans could think such a thing makes sense.

Eligibility rules for children and pregnant women to get on Medicaid are a joke. They're extremely lenient.

That's not the case for nursing home Medicaid and SSI.

We can't afford to spend as much as we spend on Medicaid, Medicare, etc. They keep eating up more and more of our budget. Where is the money supposed to come from?

I have been in pain for 2 years. I will have medicare in 30 days and now they are finding swollen lymph nodes and I have trouble walking. Now I will be worse off then if the problem was found in the beginning. Doctor's treat me like a dog because I don't have insurance. This is the unspoken massacre of Americans.

Thank you for sharing this video. I really agree with this lady. America's priority should be to make sure that life is good for all its citizen's. Providing adequate health care is a RIGHT not a privaledge.

When health care is privatized, the costs generally go up to about twice of what they would be if a state run system was in place. The US is one of the only industrialized countries that doesn't have a state run HC system.

I have been uninsured for 2 years awaiting my medicare to kick in. This is a real tragedy. America needs to speak out!
