Internationalliving.com editor Glynna Prentice is in Dungarvan, a fishing town on the coast of County Waterford. The town's main streets have two- and three-story buildings with colorfully-painted facades. The storefronts house shops, restaurants, pubs, and banks.
Fishing and sailboats bob in the harbor, as mooring is free here. And the waterfront area has restaurants that serve excellent seafood. There are plenty of small terrace houses right in Dungarvan itself. Another neighborhood, across an inlet, has larger homes. Dungarvan is less than an hour from the city of Waterford...which itself is less than 3 hours by train from Dublin.
Real estate agents list numerous two- and three-bedroom homes in the area starting as low as about $175,000.
