Oh my God!! This game was awesome, thank you for bringing it back, I can now play it on the go!
P.S. implementing video copilot's tutorials on bits of the trailer gives it extra points in my book.

Странно, что я никогда не слышал про оригинальную игру. Да и практически полное отсутствие анимации как-то отпугивает. Жалко $3 за такое

Please! Port it to Android! Way to go, i love dungeon crawling :)

This is, far and away, the best game that has EVER been released on the AppStore. I am privileged to be sitting here and playing it. I love it so much because you can literally see and experience all the hard work, attention and care that went into it. Jeff, you and your team did an amazing job, and you all should be patting yourselves on the back for doing such an outstanding job. And now I hear you're releasing Fargoal 2 as a FREE UPDATE? If I were a woman, I'd sleep with all of you!

@talk2bill It was the Vic 20. I dunno if that's the same thing, but... Yeah. Hahaha

i played the heck out of this game back in the day. Was it on the C64?

@RabidRat88 You are correct about Rogue being published before SoF.
What I meant was that I hold SoF in higher regard than "just another roguelike game" because the author probably invented everything himself, not simply copied from Rogue.
I guess he wrote Gammaquest 2 (of which SoF is sort-of-remake) without seeing Rogue (considering Rogue was released 1980 and SoF 1982 and Gammaquest 2 was written before SoF).

@arttuy False. Rogue was out years before Sword of Fargoal and probably was the inspiration for it.

Yeah, but this is port of Sword of Fargoal. This is "not yet another rogue clone". All the roguelikes were created years AFTER the original Sword of Fargoal.

Not a bad effort considering the limits of the iPhone platform but still far from what a good roguelike can offer on the PC.
Though I lack an iPhone, I look forward to one day playing this as the PC remake a ways back was a nice introduction. Congrats on keeping this lively and best wishes going forward. I shall now let the people at Roguetemple know...

Thanks so much!
We are very excited about the current iPhone release, but we also have gotten multiple requests for other platforms. We are enjoying considering what else we can do with this fun version of the game.
Sincerely,
Jeff McCord (original author)
