@SlidingGhost I think I only had one checkpoint, it was right before the launch. Once you have broken the barrier and walk forward a little you usually get a checkpoint, I guess it's because you're at a certain area in the map that automaticly gives you a checkpoint. I'm sure you can get even more checkpoints from killing all the enemies.
