  • Much of what you see here has already been transformed into the "Artsquest campus". (In front of the blast furnaces) Quite different now. 1/27/2001

  • You young punks are no more than vandals and trespassers not curious about the making of steel or what your forbears went through to secure a modern future for you. Perhaps you should've fallen down the shaft. Big thumbs down! Go back to school; maybe you'll be janitors skilled enough in cleaning up a plant! If you're lucky! You can't even break a window!

  • I enjoyed this video up until 6:00 when one of you assholes started trying to smash a window with a brick. I wonder what else you clowns tried to destroy that didn't get into the video!

  • I worked there 1973-74, send me a PM if you wish. Can you tell that all this huge plant, however awesome, was well past its use-by date? Could not compete with foreign steel and Nucor. BS was like a cow that people were all too happy to milk but that no one was willing to feed. Last pour in 1994, plant closed in 1998, BS bankrupt 2001. 3 most modern mills sold to Mittal, this and 17 other plants abandoned. The 20th century is over.

  • When was this shot?
