U.S. Sen. John Hoeven of North Dakota held a news conference on Oct. 25, 2011, to discuss the Coal Residuals Reuse and Management Act, which was introduced on Oct. 20 by him and U.S. Sen. Kent Conrad. The legislation will ensure the safe and effective disposal of coal combustion residuals, a byproduct of coal-fired electricity generation that is also recycled as a valuable building material. Joining Hoeven at the news conference were supporters of the bill, including Basin Electric's Mike Eggl and MDU Resources President Terry Hildestad. Watch the video to learn more about the bill and its importance to the country.
