On September 21, 2001, platinum rap artist McKinley "Mac" Phipps Jr. was convicted of killing a 19-year-old man during a club show he was headlining. Though another man confessed to the crime, Phipps remains in jail, serving a 30-year prison term. Based on the confession, and the flimsy eyewitness testimony he was convicted with, it is widely believed in the rap community that he is an innocent man who is a victim of the corrupt, Louisiana justice system.

  • @mayfair80 P aint got no weight anymore.

  • Is this documentary EVER gonna see the light of day??? I need to see this. Free Mac

  • @skinnybonesprod damn hate to hear that. has p tried to throw some of his weight around?

  • @mayfair80 The whole situation is pretty questionable - the doc gets into that, into the way the investigation was handled and into how the trial was handled, both by the prosecution and the defense. Basically, the competence level combined with the mistakes made make you realize that an episode of Law and Order is purely fiction - the justice system doesn't work as smoothly or fairly as the one on TV.

  • @skinnybonesprod damn. did they have that much evidence? y no re trial?

  • @mayfair80 When we were shooting the doc, it seemed like there might be a slim chance, but not sure the likelihood now.

Also, an update on the doc: Post-production is done, so should be seeing the light of day in the first half of '11.

  • @skinnybonesprod will mac ever get back in court?

  • I pray for his appeal...because this is bullshit. I maybe from the westcoast, but i got family in the N/O and to be honest, MAC is by far the greattest fuck it THE KING OF THE SOUTH!!...

  • This shit is so sad bruh bruh. Mac is so kind hearted. I've heard all of his CD's and ain never heard him say he would kill any body. He's always talked about what he saw in the deadly streets of the N.O. Plus 1 guy in the damn video said he was side by side with Mac & Mac didn't fire any shots. The specific crackers in that court room can suck an N.O. junkies dick for all I care. Dem bitches took one of our leaders.
