Not to take anything away from Johnny, 'coz he's downright a legend! A really talented and a very, very good singer. But, in my opinion, I think Stephen Bishop's version is better.
A lot of people can appreciate Bishop's version more because it's not jazzy like that of Mathis' plus Stephen's base melody in that song is catchy enough for everyone to like or appreciate. Everytime I'd hear it, it kinda hits home, y'know..
