Moral Law
1. Every law has a law giver
2. There is a Moral Law
3. Therefore, there is a Moral Law Giver

If the first and second premises are true, then the conclusion follows. If there are moral obligations, there must be someone to be obligated to.

Whoever said that we should help people? Is helping people a universal moral obligation? ...or is it just true for you and not for me?

Whoever said that Hitler was wrong, or right? Where did these moral standards come from?

The evidence is not scientific, but moral in nature. Because we know what's absolutely wrong, there must be an absolute standard of rightness. Without this objective standard, any objection to evil is nothing but your personal opinion. Without an objective standard of meaning and morality, then life is meaningless and there's nothing absolutely right or wrong.

An absolute moral obligation is something that is binding on all people, at all times, in all places. And an absolute Moral Law implies an absolute Moral Law Giver.

To claim to have the "truth" that "no one has truth," is self-defeating. So truth must exist.

To believe in moral relativism is to believe that there are no real moral differences between Mother Teresa and Hitler, freedom and slavery, equality and racism, or love and hate. So moral relativism must be false. If moral relativism is false, then an objective Moral Law exists.

If there is no Moral Law, then no position of any moral issue is objectively right or wrong--including the positions taken by atheists. So by rebelling against the Moral Law, atheists have undermined their grounds for rebelling against anything.

I'm not Catholic. :)

  • Here's the almighty question: If you can't tell the difference between right and wrong, then how can you know that your god is doing right? on the other hand, If you can tell right from wrong... well that answers my question :)

  • @AlphaDogmatist

Vatican city was formed by Mussolini who was an ally of Hitler. How about those good atheists like Stalin and Mao? Communism according to Karl Marx is necessarily atheistic.

  • @diehardwalnut

In that case my interpretation that rape and murder are good who are you to say otherwise?

  • @RussellLawliet

at some points he claimed to be at others he disavowed it and saw the Catholics as being inferior but not as much as the Jews.

  • @mikeymikemikey1 FYI, diseases are not manmade as man is yet to discover how to create cells. Religious belief is only God can make life anyway. You can’t really believe in evolution either, basically trying to have your cake and eat it. How can God make Adam and Eve as humans then have them evolve from single cell organism, makes no sense.

  • @sk8ingwillkillme

How can you believe in an intricate system yet also believe you have free will? Meaning even your God cannot know what you will do. So here we have him inflicting people which may make them give up their faith, and then condemning these that do to an eternity in hell just because he screwed them over, whilst others get easy lives and follow him, a bit unfair.

  • There's no such thing as a moral law.

Morals: one concerning what is right or prudent, that can be derived from a story, a piece of information, or an experience.

Hitlers morals was to rid the world of the jewish population and etc.

Morals do not have to be good, and they are derived from your environment, and how you go through life. Rational people early on discover that killing people is bad, because of the environment they're brought up in saying that murder and killing is bad. Idiot.

  • I bet that you are a good head giver..was it as good for you as it was for me

  • The moral law circular logic is circular logic is... is fallacious. It proposes that one is clearly unable themselves to determine right from wrong. However, that said, the world over, regardless of religion or belief, killing someone is a big no no.

Besides, which is more moral. Knowing right from wrong and simply not doing it or being told right from wrong and not doing it for fear of reprisal?

  • Hm, Hitler was a devout roman catholic following the teachings of SAINT MELITO of Sardis. Vatican Cities formation was due in part, to Hitler.

He believed that the jews killed jesus and were therefore he was doing gods will.

Gott Mit Uns was on every nazi belt buckle (God with Us).

I know you christians don't like hearing it, but the holocaust is without a doubt christian baggage.

Evil men do evil things, good men do good things, but for good men to do evil things, that takes religion.
