  • Though Ezio Pinza is the original Emile, and had portrayed the role so effortlessly. Paulo Szot's warm baritone voice takes the role of Emile deBeque to a new level, and blows all competition away.

  • this video deserves so many more views....i have listened to this at least ten times today!! great video

  • Ben Brantley - New York Times Review

A rich sincerity pervades the deep-reaching baritone of Mr. Szot. When he delivers “Some Enchanted Evening” or “This Nearly Was Mine,” it’s not as a swoon-making blockbuster (though of course it is), but as a measured and honest consideration of love.

  • @NickDrivas go suck his dick homo, Pinza was the best, fuck you, bitch ass batty boy.

  • @wiguy3 The best version is this one- Paulo's

Jane Olivor not even half as good...

  • for fans of this particular wonderful song, enter Jane Olivor and look for her version. You won't be sorry.

  • Saw him play Emile last night at the New Theatre, Oxford. Was my first experience of South Pacific. Was very very impressed. He made the performance.

  • AH! such a beautiful baritone!!!

  • nice

  • Fantastic performance. I've seen him live (albeit in 1996 or so). Simply perfectly done.
