Rarevision 80s Retro VHS Logo

This was a fun experiment to try to emulate the film distribution company logos on old VHS tapes from the 80s. It was my first project using Blender 2.5 (alpha 2). The text was animated and rendered in 3D with Blender, and the rest was done in After Effects. The music was done in Cubase using some analog synthesizer plugins.

But that was more like filmed than videotaped.

Yep! Since many of those old logos were actually printed on film (and then transferred to tape), I thought I'd try to simulate that.

A VERY awesome logo, to say the least. The authenticity is mind-boggling.

It's nice to see something that actually has a TRULY retro, as opposed to pseudo-retro, feel.

what did u use to make the vhs audio effect on this in cubase? speakerphone?

GREAT WORK...wow...I've been trying to do this with AE and got some ok stuff done but nothing like this...
