This song was composed by the Mexican composer Maria Mendez Grever. She also wrote the original Spanish lyrics. The song became a top hit in the US with the English title and lyrics, "What a Diff'rence A Day Made".
Eydie Gorme, the wonderful vocalist, is a nice Jewish girl from the Bronx, born Edith Gormezano.
There's tons of fabulous information in one of my favorite books: "And You Shall Know Us by the Trail of Our Vinyl - The Jewish Past as Told by the Records We Have Loved and Lost."
