  • This actually brought a tear to my eye. Someday we'll all be allowed to marry the one we love.

  • Perfect. Thank you so much. I just hope that someday I can see my best friend marry the girl of her dreams. Love knows no gender.

  • @quitreadingmyblog I'm conservative, and fully in support of gay rights. I think your comment is pretty small minded to be honest.

  • This song gives me something I've never had: Hope. And I hope to someday listen to it without hope, but with happiness. Someday, I will be able to love him.

  • yes. oh yes yes yes <3

  • Hmmm, I wonder how many conservatives go to see Vienna Teng in concert? Does she poll the audience? Pie my face and call me a neo-con, but I daresay that her audience demographic is not unlike that of Melissa Etheridge's or the Indigo Girls.

But if it makes small minded people feel superior to suggest that others are too dumb to figure out song lyric meanings...ok.

  • @quitreadingmyblog the POINT of this song is NOT the politics of the subject. THAT'S why it flies over the radar of so many conservatives (at least in Vienna's own experience performing this song). She NEVER explicitly mentions gays specifically, which is why she says that many of her listeners are shocked when she explains the back-story to them. In fact, in the concert I went to, she deliberately kept the introduction to this song very vague.

  • I'm annoyed with the idiots who think that conservatives are too retarded to know that this song is about gay marriage. Just because YOU can't appreciate music that doesn't align with YOUR political left leanings, doesn't mean that everyone is so limited. I'm very far right, and while I don't agree with the viewpoints expressed in the music, I also don't agree with the viewpoint expressed in The Kinks "Art Lover"---which is about a pedophile. But I still love The Kinks. STUPIDS.

  • @Cyberia24 I guess for a lot of people, the subject of gay marriage is inherently political.

  • This song is so sweet. I listen to it at least once every day. I'm in love with it. And I am waiting for the girl I know I love to realize things. Perhaps we could end up like this... If Utah pulls its head out of its ass and realizes the LGBT is not bad.

  • This song is gorgeous. -3

  • i love how her voice sounds just as beautiful live
