@farrell360 no because all good things future is not whats really going to happen.....its not actually cannon of the future, its just the possible future in that episode

he died by sacrificing his life to Captain Jean-Luc Picard, he always has and forever will be... his freind (reference to Spock "Star Trek: Wrath Of Khan" Data is the equivelent of Spock)

Between Spocks death and Data's. I'd have to say the death of Data is more emotional. Spocks was pretty emotional at that time in the 2nd movie. But we all understand he comes back in the 3rd movie which is a blessing.

As for Data he sacrifices his life to save his best friend and his fellow crew members. That was the last time we ever saw him. He loved his captian and his crew and gave his life to save them! Rest in peace, Data

Even thought I thought that Star Trek: Nemesis was an okay movie, it was pretty sad that Data dies. But then again he sacrifices himself to save Picard and the crew of the Enterprise.

Well, luckly for me, I've taken the advice of fellow Trekkers and never watched Star Trek X: Nemesis. I didn't mind the death of Kirk, but the death of Data....

@darkestdays11 First Contact was the only reasonably good TNG movie. Lets look at Nemesis and Wrath of Khan-YET ANOTHER story about revenge against the captain, a doomsday weapon, a bit fight in a nebula, and the most popular character dies to save the rest of the ship. I mean Star Trek with a DUNE BUGGY CHASE! The only thing rolling faster than the tires is Roddenberry in his grave. Yes it was sad Data died, but itsa forced and clumsy piece to cash in on the franchise one last time
