This is the second video which links to the paper published in International Journal of Clinical Practice by Stephen Workman - 'Never say die? - as treatments fail doctors' words must not'.

When patients are recognized to be dying, decision making about Cardiopulmonary recuscitation is pointless and may be harmful-- Offering CPR to to dying patients or their families creates unrealistic expectations and hopes and does nothing to create facilitate a good death. In comparison to the original video. the physician focus is upon diagnosing and managing a dying patient. This requires that physicians recognize and communciate clearly that the patient is dying, delimit the bounds of effective treatment, assess emotions, and help family members accept that death is the next stage in the patients illness by carefully telling them as much.

This paper was published in the February 2011 issue of the journal.
