  • Calculators are getting "smarter" all the time. What model is your calculator? Does it have symbolic algebra capabilities? (like simplifying formulae, etc.) If so, then it's not surprising that it gets this one right. Fooling your calculator will probably take more work, but I bet it could still be done.

  • ^^ yup they're getting smarter and making more people lazy o.O!!!

its a CASIO fx-300ES and nop, it doesn't have symbolic alegrebra capabilities'_'

  • please enter x = 1/3 and y = 7 into your calculator memory and enter the expression:

    (1 - x*(y - 1)/2)^(x^3)

  • google calculator and wolfram alpha get it right too

  • casio natural diaplay calcualtor? yer it would get past this cus it stores number as quotients (fractions) (aswell as surds) which means thst 1/3 is actally stored as 1/3 insted of 0.3333333333333

I'm actally trying to make a calcuator to apss this test

  • fuck mate, did it just take 50 seconds to type that after 10+ years of using this calculator?

are you good friends with mathguy? maybe you should.

  • my +10 years old casio calculator did it correctly.

  • I got Math ERROR in fx-3650p

  • I have the fx-991ES which is just like this, albeit newer capabilities (like numerical differentiation and integration and other stuff i'll not use till uni no doubt), it may make people lazier for sure, but if u relise that it'll do this to other people, and u can fight the urge, then its only a benefit to u as long as u learn exactly how to do things properly.

But good stuff, it'll make the mathguy work harder lol
