Whitney and Celine also have the voice, but what Mariah distinct is her song writing ability. She can't read music but her soul knows those chords and melodies and it shows in her voice.

People don't realize how much Mariah puts in her records! Like seriously, from having the idea, to writing it down, making the melody, composing the lyrics, to the background vocals, to the instruments thats going to be used, and the vocals, the runs, the message of the song, YOU THINK THATS EASY!?!?! THEN SHE DOESNT GET ANY CREDIT! :( UGH

I want to read that newspaper that says "Not Another White Girl Trying To Sing Black." How can people be so ignorant? It's like the thing with "All I Want for Christmas is You": many people think that's a cover when she really co-wrote the song.
