Allah Almighty encouraged the Muslims to liberate Slaves and the Captives of Wars (right hands possessions) whenever possible. Let us look at Noble Verse 4:92

The Noble Quran not only allows slaves to request their freedom from their Muslim masters, but also orders the Muslim masters to pay the slaves money to help them stand on their feet and to be able to face life with a good jump start.

Only God can save you. He does not need to have "change" his perfect law, because that would make him imperfect I do believe. That's why I do not believe in the "Christ's New Covenant". It means that God had to change his original statement and law.
