On a test track in the new Volvo FH, together with test drivers you get to experience how the Collision Warning with Emergency Brake system can avoid a rear end collision, even if its tight!
The tractor trailer is fully loaded to 40 tons GCW.

I'm guessing you mean the two loud "puffs" just before it stops completely? I'm no big rig expert or anything but I would say it's probably got something to do with letting out break pressure.

"The tractor trailer is fully loaded to 40 tons GCW." It's in the description which no one takes the time to read. Also, 70 ton M1 Abrams can come to a stop as quickly as that Volvo truck, so no it isn't impossible to break that fast.

The vehicle behind knows that it should keep a safe distance behind a truck ..... unless he's/she's an idiot ! I've seen many idiots on the road stuck behind trucks ... they don't get that a truck is different than a small car ...if a car is to close to the truck , the truck driver won't even see it ... o well ...

One thing I can say. The mercedes brakes in video on the right side aren't better. Don't waste ur time ;)
