  • @uhetsberger. The trailing edge flaps do move quite quickly. The 757 hydraulic system supplies 3000 psi to hydraulic motors in the main wheel well. They spin at high RPM torque tubes, which spin gearboxes, then turn jackscrews which moves the gimbles that are attached to the flaps. If you look at the flap fairings you can see the jackscrews move, and the torque tube are right underneath the spoilers.

  • Delta Pilots do the best runway turn offs! Spoilers down, then flaps up. They have the least FOD damage under the trailing edge flaps because the main landing gears can throw junk up into them. Superb turnoff!
