[SOLUTION] it was a failed MAF sensor (Mass Airflow Sensor), + a small vacuum leak in the intake pipe where i had previously drilled a hole to relocate the IAT (Intake Air Temperature sensor). Problem resolved after replacing the MAF and sealing up the minor leak in the intake pipe.
[PROBLEM]
Here is my Miata LS year 2001 model at a standstill. As you see, the idle is getting really sporadic. The car would even stall sometimes. This happens maybe 20% of the time, other times the car is actually running very smoothly.
Battery is 10 years old as well as the timing belt. Just changed to a new air intake temperature sensor per engine code / check light that i got earlier, but the problem still persists.
Any pointers?
@Carlosv0321 thanks for the comment - yeah for a 94, i'd say check the coil packs which are known for failures. Wet days mean there is more moisture in the air, which may exacerbate the problem?

Same thing is happening to me. It only happens in the wet though. I would also like some info on this problem . I was told to check the plugs and wires. Also told it may be the coil packs, mine is a 94 though.
