This is a remarkable film. It doesn't take anything away from the overall experience but I would point out that this is not the first time that homosexuality (particularly with men) was discussed in film. There are many old broadway plays and early film such as Cat On A Hot TIn Roof that alluded to this concept. That being said, this was the first time that it had a cultural effect and imprint that was accepted on a broader level.
