  • Original Zune (30GB); latest firmware; s/w 3.1.620; Windows XP Pro, SP3.

Had previously run this hack successfully, but now find that I get a regedit error "Cannon edit PortableDeviceNameSpaceExcludeFromShell error writing the value's new contents." Goal is to copy some files from the Zune, as they're no longer on my hard drive.

    Zune is unconnected from PC

  • use the zune software with ur zune connected

  • I got my Zune to show up but I can't copy anyting to my Hard Drive. Why

  • disconnect your zune and shut down zune app. you have to type in devicenamespace exactly like i just did all in one word .then your files will come up. not the actual name of whatever you named you'r zune.

  • Worked- but then I try copying files in and it says "You do not have permission to create this file".... Did I do something wrong?!?! Frustrating.....

  • can i still use it normally?

  • wait.. you Do have to have your Zune pluged in during this or Dont ??

  • Okay so I did everything and it worked, but I'm having a problem.

As long as the Zune software is closed I am able to click on the zune icon (through 'My Computer') but nothing appears and I cannot access the "Storage" icon. However, when the Zune software is not running, I am able to get to the storage and see all the folder, but when I go to add something it tells me the file could not be placed on the device because I don't have permission....Can you help me?!

  • i have a zune hd and when i try to connect to wifi it never does it just says connecting. when i go to the internet the screen goes black and locks up so i have to restart it. if there is anyway to get it to work correctly that'd be awesome if someone could tell me how to do that.

  • 2:41 someone says "SHUT UP!" LOL
