Enjoy a ride video onboard a Toronto Transit Commission 2004 Orion VII 07.501, #7456, on 506 Carlton, heading westbound to High Park. This vehicle has a Detroit Diesel Series 50 EGR engine and an Allison B400R transmission.

This video was taken on College Street, between Queen's Park Crescent and Bathurst Street.

7456 was probably used as a gap filler, as there was an abnormally huge gap between streetcars westbound on the 506 at Yonge Street at around 2:45pm.

  • TTC needs articulated buses in their fleet.

  • @TTC2755 Agreed, except they require the frame to be stainless steel. Until recently, no manufacturer offered stainless steel on their articulated buses. Now that Nova Bus introduced the LFS Artic with a stainless steel option, expect the TTC to order from them in the near future.

  • @vivablue5215 unless New Flyer comes up with a stainless steel XD(E)60. Orion's probably gonna do the Citaro in mild steel or carbon.

I have to say though, this bus doesn't sound like anything I've been on these days. They sound more or less like 2011 VIIs and the axles make a distinctive D400LF moan. Never heard it in a VII before...
